Q3 Fleet Investment
FTH Hire Group are proud to say we invested over £2 million in new plant, tools and equipment between July and September 2026, expanding our hire fleet with excavators, rollers, telehandlers, augers, site safety equipment and more. The investment focuses on the machinery and equipment used every day across groundworks, civil engineering, construction and utilities projects.
The new equipment is being introduced across our hire hub network in England, Scotland and Wales, giving customers access to additional stock as they plan upcoming projects.
This follows our Q2 fleet investment and forms part of our ongoing programme to renew and expand the FTH fleet. While Q2 focused on increasing the range of equipment available, Q3 has concentrated on adding more of the machines, attachments and safety equipment our customers regularly hire.

What Does This Investment Mean for Our Customers?
Our continued fleet investment is about making sure customers have access to reliable, well-maintained equipment when they need it.
More equipment available to hire
Adding to our fleet each quarter increases our stock levels and helps us respond to demand during busy periods. It also gives customers more options when planning projects that require several machines or different types of equipment.
A wider choice for different projects
Different jobs call for different equipment. With additional excavators ranging from 1T to 8T, hydraulic augers, compaction machinery and lifting equipment, customers have more choice when selecting machinery to suit their project requirements.
Reliable equipment to keep projects moving
Equipment breakdowns can lead to delays, particularly when other work depends on a machine completing its task. Regularly renewing and maintaining our fleet helps reduce the risk of unexpected downtime and keeps equipment ready for hire.
Continued investment in our hire fleet
Our investment programme doesn't stop at the end of one quarter. By regularly introducing new machinery, tools and safety equipment, we're continuing to develop our fleet around the needs of the contractors and businesses we support.
Preparing for the Months Ahead
As we move into autumn and winter, construction sites face shorter working days, wetter ground and changing site conditions. Having suitable, dependable equipment available is important when planning work around these challenges.
Our Q3 investment puts additional machinery and equipment into the hire fleet ahead of the winter months, supporting customers with upcoming groundworks, construction, landscaping and civil engineering projects.
