Q2 Fleet Investment
Investment you can see, on every site, every week
At FTH Hire Group, the standard of equipment we put on your site is the clearest signal of how seriously we take our partnership with you. A breakdown mid job doesn't just cost time, it costs money, momentum and trust. That's the thinking behind our ongoing, structured approach to fleet renewal, and Q2 is proof it's not a one-off promise.
Between April and June, FTH has invested over £2 million in new plant, tools and equipment, adding a substantial range of machinery and accessories across our hire hub network and putting it straight into circulation for immediate hire.
This is deliberate, planned investment, not a reaction to shortages. It's how we make sure the right equipment is on the shelf, or on the back of a lorry, the moment you need it.
What's joined the fleet in Q2
This quarter's investment has a strong plant and machinery focus, alongside continued expansion of access equipment, power and site safety stock. Highlights include:
- 45 excavators (1T / 1.7T / 3T)
- 14 swivel tip 3T dumpers
- 4 avant multi-loaders (760i / 860i / 635)
- 10 twin drum rollers 1200mm
- 11 high tip tracked 1T dumpers
- 3 electric HR12 boom lifts
- 10 electric 8m scissor lifts
- 15 SDS max breakers, hammers & multi drills
- 28 generators (2.7 kVA / 6 kVA / 10 kVA)
- 240 heras fence panels
- 80 chapter 8 barriers
- 150 ladders, podium steps, stair towers & MI towers
This spread of machinery, from compact excavators and dumpers through to access platforms, power and site safety equipment, mirrors the range of work our customers has tackled - whether that's groundworks, civils, housebuilding or general construction.
Why this matters for your project
A bigger, newer fleet isn't just a number on a page, it's what keeps your site moving. Here's what this quarter's investment means in practice:
Fewer breakdowns, fewer delays
Newer machines and tools simply perform better, which means less downtime and fewer disruptions to your programme.
Stock when you need it
A larger fleet means we can absorb peak demand without leaving you waiting. If you need it, the chances are we've got it.
A supplier built for the long term
Investing quarter after quarter, not just when budgets allow, is how you can tell a hire partner is serious about supporting your business over the long run.
A continuous commitment, not a one-off
It would be simple to make a big investment once and coast for a while, but that's not how we work. Fleet renewal at FTH runs on a continuous cycle, year-round and quarter by quarter, so the benefits keep compounding rather than fading after an initial splash.
This really matters because the industry doesn't stand still. Site requirements change, regulations shift and new equipment technology keeps raising the bar. Investing on a rolling basis means FTH keeps pace with those changes, and so do our customers.
